Although we are definitely in agreement that hockey is just for fun, especially at the adult recreational level, that doesn't mean that you can't try and improve each and every time you step on the ice.

Improving as a player, and as a team just means that your games are going to become more and more fun, because who doesn't love winning?

We understand that there's almost no adult teams scheduling practices unless you play at a high level, however that doesn't mean you can't improve on your game.

The next time you step off the ice after a game, do some reflecting - instead of thinking about all the great things you did that game and how strong different aspects of your play were, try focusing on the other side.

How could you have avoided turning the puck over? Did you miss covering a player in the defensive zone, leading to a goal? Did you shoot when you should have passed, or pass when you should have shot?

This is beneficial because then the next time you find yourself in a similar scenario, you'll have already run through it in your head 10 times, and you'll be far more likely to make the correct play, giving your team a better chance to win, and making the game more fun!
