What's the Weather Like in Sault Ste. Marie?

Sault Ste. Marie is located in the Northern part of Ontario, Canada which means that you can expect temperatures to be relatively cold as the CARHA Hockey World Cup is held at the end of the winter season in March.

The winter months in Sault Ste. Marie can be very cold, with the coldest months of the year on average being January and February, during which time the daily high temperatures will only reach the -4° to -7°C (lower 20’s).  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally fall to the -7° to -18°C range and often lower.

The average temperature in March is approximately -4°C and you can expect some snow as the average snowfall is 34 cm.
