CARHA Hockey is proud to have selected Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO) as its charity of choice for the 2022/23 hockey season. Committed to furthering our impact in communities across Canada, we have teamed up with SCIO in support of their ‘Ice Dreams – From the Pond to the Arena’ fundraising calendar initiative. The calendar has a unique connection to hockey and our favourite sport, featuring artistic portrayals of hockey scenes and works from artists with physical disabilities. The final piece will be a keepsake to display!

SCIO provides important programs and services to assist people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation. Their services include service navigation, peer support, equipment and assistive device support, employment services, advocacy and knowledge exchange. Spinal cord injuries are a reality, as accidents happen both on and off the ice. CARHA Hockey is committed to spreading awareness to our hockey players and fans about the barriers faced by people living with a spinal cord injury and supporting SCIO’s vision for a more equitable and inclusive community.
