Sammie Wishlow Inducted into the CARHA Hockey Hall of Fame  

Sammie has been a player, coach, and builder of hockey as a member of both the Vancouver Ol' Blues and the Vancouver Schooners since 1985. Nominated in the Builder Category by the Vancouver Ol' Blues Hockey Society, members of Sammie's hockey family were in attendance for the award presentation in Richmond, BC. 

"His dedication, inspiration, and sportsmanship have not only been significant to the present development of CARHA Hockey but will continue to benefit hockey for younger and older future generations. Sammie lives the game of hockey and is a good person in all aspects of his personal life."

Congratulations, Sammie! It is a great honour to recognize your years of dedication and share this prestigious award with you.

Sarah Thompson Reflects on the Shift Occurring in Women's Hockey

This week, Team Canada defeated Team USA 3-2 to capture gold at the U18 Women's World Championship! It's the third gold this year for Team Canada, who dominated at the Beijing Olympics and Women's World Championship.  

A significant shift is occurring to level the playing field for female athletes. Persistence is paying off, and we must keep the momentum going. Sarah Thompson weighs in with her experience, including competing at the 2020 U18 Women's World Championship, playing for Syracuse University, and having a future in professional hockey.

Call for Nominations: 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame 
Burlington Oldtimers Club 

Are you or someone you know 80 or older and still playing hockey? You are eligible to be inducted into the 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame. We are seeking Southern Ontario nominations for our October 2022 inductions.

Deadline for nominations: July 31, 2022.

This year the Burlington Oldtimers Hockey Club will be hosting the induction ceremony in Burlington on Saturday, October 22. The BOHC is proud to be welcoming inductees across Southern Ontario. The day will include three games: one for the new inductees, one for past inductees, and an international game against 80+ players from the USA.
