CARHA Hockey is excited to welcome the Northern Alberta Female Hockey Association for the start of the 2022/23 season! In addition to enhancing the hockey experience for players, the growth of female participation in sports and recreation is integral to both our organizations.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:
SAME GAME CHALLENGE
Final week to apply
Canadian Women & Sport is seeking local sport, physical activity and recreation organizations across Canada for the Same Game Challenge! This project will support organizations to advance gender equity and improve opportunities for women and girls as participants and leaders in sport.

If you don't know, now you know! The world's largest adult rec hockey tournament is happening March 19th to 26th, 2023, in Richmond, BC, and you don't want to miss it. We have two awesome opportunities to get involved:

PLAY: This is your stage! Limited spots remain across all divisions and skill levels (19+), and all teams registered by October 28th are eligible to win a team set of sticks!

OFFICIATE: Referee applications are being accepted until October 15th. International referees are also welcome!

We rounded up some of the highlights making news recently! 
  • Sami Jo Small: Just announced! Joins the Toronto Six as team president. 
  • Rebecca Johnston: Joined the Calgary Flames in a full-time role, working within the player development team, assisting in prospect evaluations and on-ice instruction, and working with the Flames Foundation in grassroots programs.
  • Alexandra Mandrycky: Promoted to Assistant General Manager for the Seattle Kracken. She is the sixth woman in the NHL to be hired as an assistant GM this off-season.
  • Ronda Engelhardt: Joined the Nashville Predators scouting staff as a North American Amateur Scout based out of Minnesota. She is the first female scout in team history.
