Bud McIver ODR

Blind River
ON

Our outdoor rink is situated where our community and guest gather quite often, next to our Community Centre with Lake Huron and our once booming lumber mill as the back drop. Even though the mill is non-operational remnants from its booming operations tell some pretty amazing stories. We are a community of resilience, we have had, like most small towns, economic booms and bust, but one thing always remains constant the common bond of meeting at the rink and there is nothing quite like the feeling of tying up your laces at the community outdoor rink. It’s a nostalgic feeling, a fun afternoon with a sense of camaraderie. It’s important for our community to keep the activities available for young and old alike and unfortunately cost keep rising but so does our perseverance to find ways to keep the ODR available for many, many more years to come.
