Spinal Cord Injury Ontario Announced as Official Charity Partner for the 22/23 Season

CARHA Hockey is proud to have selected Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO) as its charity of choice for the 2022/23 hockey season. Committed to furthering our impact in communities across Canada, we have teamed up with SCIO in support of their ‘Ice Dreams ““ From the Pond to the Arena‘ fundraising calendar initiative. The calendar has a unique connection to hockey and our favourite sport, featuring artistic portrayals of hockey scenes and works from artists with physical disabilities. The final piece will be a keepsake to display!

SCIO provides important programs and services to assist people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation. Their services include service navigation, peer support, equipment and assistive device support, employment services, advocacy and knowledge exchange. Spinal cord injuries are a reality, as accidents happen both on and off the ice. CARHA Hockey is committed to spreading awareness to our hockey players and fans about the barriers faced by people living with a spinal cord injury and supporting SCIO’s vision for a more equitable and inclusive community.
